The Peace Building will be a beacon of hope and a world-class learning hub for generations to come. You can help lay the foundations for peace and be part of this visionary project by becoming a Friend of The Peace Building, and joining our major donor giving scheme.
Major donors will be acknowledged in several ways; including a permanent display in a prominent position near the entrance to The Peace Building. This really is an extraordinary opportunity to leave a powerful legacy of peace. For our loved ones. For our city. For our country. For our world.
There are three ways to become a Friend of the Peace Building…
Donate towards construction costs
Pledge a donation towards the cost of the building itself. We are seeking to achieve a target of £20million in pledges towards construction so that we can enter into negotiations for the purchase of land on which to build; or the purchase of an existing building that we will repurpose and renovate. The building will be based in a suitably prominent and accessible part of London. It will become a significant landmark, adding to the city-scape with a positive message of peace to all who visit our majestic capital.
Fund a peaceful space
Pledge to fund a peaceful space of the building. This might include our concert hall, exhibition space, public peace gardens, or even our world-class resource centre. Whatever aspect of the interior or exterior you choose to support, it will be dedicated to you or anyone you would like to celebrate in this extraordinary way. To learn more about what your donation to the space might achieve please browse our pledge gallery below.
Join our Friends Regular Giving Scheme
Pledge to join our Friends Regular Giving Scheme with an annual or monthly donation for the first two years of our development and operation. This could mean contributing to our Peace Education programmes; our curated collection of peace artefacts; or even the curation of our world-class Peace Resource Hub. We’d be looking for the following pledges at various levels of regular support: Platinum Friends – £20k/year; Gold Friends – £15k/year; Diamond Friends – £10k/year; Silver Friends – £5k/year; Ruby Friends – £2k/year.
What your contribution could do...
£1 million will pay for…
Our Conference and concert hall. This is where we will host some extraordinary international speakers, as well as concerts to promote dialogue; and gatherings for peace.
£500k will provide…
State of the art exhibition rooms for permanent and temporary exhibitions about peace pioneers and peace history.
£100k would pay for…
A public garden that will provide a smooth transition from street to building. The garden will provide an open-access welcome to the building and a space for events, pop up pavilions, festival tents and outdoor seating that will encourage people to come in off the street. Trees, planted beds and a water feature will help to provide a sense of calm; slowing the pace of visitors – and creating a new space for urban nature and decompression.
£100k will pay for…
A series of flexible meeting spaces for peace-based organisations, visiting groups, and teams conducting meetings & workshops. The spaces will be versatile in order to cater to different groups and functions – and will have a pleasant, calm, non-formal vibe.
£40k will provide…
An informal café, with an open-plan aspect to the rest of the building – providing a warm welcome. Hot-desking, meeting and dining will combine to encourage encounters and interaction in an informal environment.
£20k will pay for…
A resource centre to house the archive material of The Peace Building. This space will offer a quiet learning hub that is secure but visible from the rest of the building. The space will provide a ‘toolkit’ for peace projects, and will hold physical archives as well as digital resources and information.
£15k would pay for…
Our Inner Peace Studio. A separate, contained studio space that will be designed to hold events and activities, including physical and mental wellbeing-based practices. This space will be visibly connected to the entrance area in order to welcome and encourage use by the local community and visitors to the building.
£10k pays for…
A mobile amphitheatre that may be used to create a sculptural addition to the gallery space and provide an informal area for talks and events. An open-plan approach to workshops, seminars, film screenings and lectures will encourage interaction, participation, and a cross-pollination of ideas.
