|September 2021 Newsletter
Thank you for being in touch with us and your support for The Peace Building and Peaceful Schools. We hope that you are happy to receive these quarterly updates from us about our work. Our newsletters will provide you with a place to hear about the news and developments of our charity as we gain momentum to build the museum and a movement. The Peaceful Schools work that Anna Lubelska has been coordinating now falls within the remit of our charity, and we are thrilled to report that schools continue to apply for Peaceful School awards and the message is spreading internationally.
At this present time, we at The Peace Building feel deep sorrow about the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. What we have seen and heard only goes to deepen our conviction about the need for peace at all levels. These are:
Rather than focus on the conflict, and the history which has got us to the place that we are, we need to understand how to be Peace in Action. This is a journey and the tools to do this need to be captured, understood and shared to create a global culture of peace. This is the reason why The Peace Building and Peaceful Schools exist. To get to a place where we have a permanent Peace Building Museum, which is sustainable and known for its effective expression of peace, our emphasis is to build a Peace Building movement.
We are doing this through the following:
Our first four exhibitions on our virtual Peace Building Museum are:
The next stage for The Peace Building, is how we can develop in-person Peace Building activities to build momentum that will lead to a physical Peace Building base. We are taking steps to establish partnerships with complementary venues to host initiatives that will connect with the local community. Geographically our physical presence will be in East London, but as a movement we would like the Peace Building to have a reach that has no borders throughout the UK and beyond.
As our initiative develops, we will actively publicise live events, sending invitations to valued supporters like yourself to join in with the various programmes. Each of these steps will build momentum for The Peace Building and Peaceful Schools.
As the Peace Building movement grows, we will rely on the generosity of people like you to fund The Peace Building Museum. If you can make monthly donations, this will allow us to have the stability as a new and growing charity to create a culture of peace to replace the war-torn and conflict-ridden world we live in. Our vision is for a unique centre that inspires and educates generations with the know-how to be Peace in Action. We are all Peace Leaders!

Thank you for reading our first update.
The Peace Building team send you inspiration from the internationally esteemed Mahatma Gandhi for his doctrine of nonviolent protest (satyagraha) in his efforts for political and social progress.
