Windows4Peace
Anyone anywhere can create a windows for peace exhibition! You don’t have to establish a peace museum (though that’s a worthy mission!), just find some public-facing windows and make and display pictures and text about peace heroes – to inspire others to do things for peace! This is best done as a collaborative activity thus building teams for peace!
The Windows4Peace Project is a global storytelling project that honours individuals who have dedicated their lives to peace, justice, and nonviolence. Through exhibitions in community spaces, museums, and cultural hubs, the project showcases diverse peace heroes—activists, leaders, and ordinary people who have made extraordinary contributions to building a more just and compassionate world. Each Window for Peace shares a story of courage and resilience, inviting visitors to reflect on the power of individual action and the interconnectedness of peace efforts worldwide. By bringing these stories into everyday spaces, the project aims to inspire dialogue, awareness, and collective action for a more peaceful future.
Windows4Peace (please see: windows4peace.org) is a programme of activities devised by one of our modern-day peace heroes – Liska Blodgett . Liska is a global real estate developer with over 50 years of experience shaping projects across diverse cultural and international contexts. An INSEAD MBA graduate and fluent in six languages, she has lived and studied in France, Spain, Germany, the United States, Israel, and Japan. These experiences have profoundly shaped her worldview and professional mission. Through her career in real estate and her peace-focused initiatives, she seeks to bridge cultures, foster understanding, and contribute to a more connected global community.
Liska’s work is driven by a belief in the importance of shared human values and cultural understanding. This vision led her to found Peace Museums in Vienna, Nepal, Paris, and Colorado—spaces dedicated to reflection, dialogue, and the exploration of peace-building across societies. Liska’s initiatives often begin with a guiding question: “What can you do for peace?” She is committed to turning this question into practical, collaborative action that encourages dialogue, education, and international cooperation.
